The story is based on the love affair between King Christian IV and Kirsten Munk. The story is an interaction between renaissance tunes - for example music by John Dowland, a great virtuoso on the lute and at the same time an employee at the Danish Royal Court – and songs by Danish poet Søren Terkelsen who, among other things, made his living as a customs officer! Behind the duo, images of kings, queens, composers and musicians are projected. This will create a spirited universe where artists and royalty from the past are poetically mixed with renaissance paintings, copper plates and original music sheets.
